How long does cosmetic tattoo last?
Pigments placed into the dermis using needles are considered to be permanent. It’s considered permanent even if it looks like it’s faded because the pigment molecule can remain in the skin. Thus resulting in a permanent change in the skin. The face is exposed to sun, facial products (ex: anti-aging/anti-acne cremes), other cosmetic procedures, and frequent touching. Clients medication intake, regeneration of skin, skin type (porous/oily) and the choice of tattoo color can effect the longevity. These and other exposures result in tattoo fading, color change or lack of color. Cosmetic tattoos fades in varying degrees for different individuals. Cosmetic tattoo can last any where from 6 months – 2 years (or more) before you are in need of a another session to add more pigment. It really differs person to person and I do not have a definite answer to how long cosmetic tattoo with last with your special situation.
What Payment do you accept? I accept cash and credit cards (credit card fees apply )
What is it like on the day of the cosmetic tattoo appointment?
No other person is allowed to be in the room during this service.
The salon does have a waiting area however this is not suitable for young children waiting alone.
We will handle payment, client profile form, and consent form before we start the tattooing procedure. I will need a copy of a government issued photographic identification. Please bring an ID with you. A photo will be taken before and after each session.
Each process will take between 1.5-2.5 hours and you will mostly be laying down.
A topical anesthetic will be used to keep you as comfortable as possible. However this is not a relaxing facial. This is a tattoo so expect some discomfort.
Together, we design your desired eyebrow design. We will not start until you are happy with the design.
Once the procedure is done, I go over your post care and send you home with a healing balm.
Is it painful?
This is a tattoo. There will be some discomfort however every effort is made to to provide a pleasant experience, but it’s still getting a tattoo so please be aware. I use a combinations of topical numbing cremes Lidocaine, Epinephrine, and Tetracaine to keep you comfortable.
What are your hours of operation?
I am available from Tuesday to Friday by appointment only.
It is impossible to achieve 100% symmetry and equal color saturation. Eyebrow tattoos will never replace the vibrancy of topical eyebrow makeup. If after the first session further adjustments are required additional sessions are charged separately. Unlike drawing on paper, skin has many variables when it comes to retaining color so if additional session for a spot or more color is desired which is common in my industry, this is not a failure in the treatments success. Please understand this before booking.
There is no guarantee when working on skin. As everyone heals differently. There are always risk with an elective procedure. Always proceed with caution when modifying your face.
Please avoid the following 24 hours before your procedure to prevent bleeding:
• No caffeine
• Please refrain from consuming pain relievers/killers 24hours before unless directed by your physician. Do not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor.
• Fish oil, Niacin, and Vitamin E, if possible avoid unless directed by your physician.
• Avoid exercising for the next few days after procedure as this will open up the pores.
• Any waxing should be performed at least 48 hours before the procedure: Electrolysis no less than five days before the procedure. Eyebrow tinting should not be undertaken for two weeks prior to the procedure.
After care instructions will be provided at your appointment.
Day 1-3 After your tattoo session is finished, you are now in the healing process. Your tattoo will start intensifying in color for the next few days as it heals. For some it will be INTENSELY dark. Please be ready for that.
Day 4-7 Brows will be itchy, flaky, and/or peeling off.
Day 8-10 itching will lessen and it may fade or lose pigment up 40-60% causing unevenness. Brows will have a muted tone after they peel. At the second session I will tattoo anything that is missing. Please note, I can not guarantee your final result. Different skin types hold pigment differently and dissipate at different rates. You may be required to due an additional session.
Here is a photo of a client that peeled a lot. Most of my clients have a milder healing experience with flaking.
Long Term Care:
After your final session is done and you are completely healed please use a good sunscreen to prevent sun exposure from fading your tattoo.
If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics.
You may not be eligible to donate blood for one year post application.
